Filmed decades apart on the same miniDV camcorder, TO KNOW HER is a poetic exploration of my family’s relationship with my mother. I will never forget the first time I found her wedding video. There she was, in her dress, holding a camera close to her veil. Capturing, loving, feeling. In these 3 small seconds I felt her presence. I replay that part, over and over. I can only hold onto her image—but what separates us except time and space?
