Synopsis

Something just happened again, this time in Salzburg. The son-in-law of the Festival president is dead. An alleged suidde. For the Church a blessing in disguise. After all, the suicide victim had recently caused quite an uproar by publicizing the scandalous recollections of his boyhood at the Catholic bosrding school-Brenner has other worries. But the victim's attractive widow comes on to him with sweet talk and ;i sweet offer to match. She thinks her husband was murdered. And she wants to hire Brenner to prove it-Lucky for him his old pal Berti shows up to help him out. Their investigations lead them into the monastic realm of silentium and behind the scenes at the Salzburg Festival. Brenner gets framed, is suspected of murder, and just barely escapes being murdered himself. In the end, the case is solved, but the cream of society has its own conception of justice... After their hit "Come, Sweet Death" the three-man team of Wolfgang Mumberger, Josef Hader, and Wolf Haas Is back at the top with SILENTIUM. A biting, ruthless detective story full of wit, suspense, and irony.

Director's Biography

Born in 1960 in Wiener Neustadt, Wolfgang Murnberger studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Screenwriting, Directing, Editing. He is married and has four children. He has been working as a freelance screenwriter and director since 1990.
