The boundaries between reality and fiction blur and the story becomes a whirling kaleidoscope showing us gangsters and gunfights, but also the challenge of life in a wheelchair and the pain caused by a father’s rejection.
It was crucial to me to make a movie about disabled people where they finally aren’t played by actors, but they get the opportunity to act themselves and be the real heroes.
His first feature film PANIC premiered in 2008 at the Hungarian Film Week where it was recognised in a number of categories, and won the Best Actress Award. It appeared at a number of international festivals, including the Cairo IFF.
His first short film, BEAST, based on extended research and inspired by newspaper articles and television news on the theme of modern-day slavery, premiered in Cannes Directors' Fortnight 2011, screened at more than 100 festivals and received a European Short Film nomination by EFA.
Aside from his film work, Attila is one of the most recognized TV personalities in Hungary. In recent years, he has helped create numerous innovative cultural programs as well as hosting high-profile TV shows.
