France, 1980. An ex horsemeat butcher is fighting for survival. Having abandoned his autistic daughter, he moves to Lille with his pregnant mistress, hoping to rebuild a new life for himself. He doesn't love her and hates life in his mother-in-law's apartment. His hopes soon turn into bitterness, and bitterness into obsession. Violence explodes.
