Gaseirnaba Karabakhshi

Georgia

Synopsis

Tbilisi of the early 90's. Civil war, pickets in the streets and outskirts of the city. That is the entourage for the movie "A trip to Karabakh". The characters are well matched with the surroundings - chaotic and lost in time and space. Gio, Gogliko, Sandro and Duda are friends with typical interests of 20 year-old boys - girls, cards . . . but there was another harmful passion - narcotics. The "old" drug addict Ilo Nebieridze gives money for narcotics, Achiko Kipiani is a middleman, and drug traffickers from Azerbaijan are Gio and Gogliko. Gio is hopelessly in love - Iana's reputation is unacceptable for Gio's friends and above all for Tengiz - a father of a respectable and honorable family of the city. This trip is just a cause to escape from intolerable reality for Gio, who suffers from the general indifference. In place of Azerbaijan Gio and Gogliko are found in Karabakh - a conflict zone of Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this short-term captivity Gio feels an unprecedented sense of internal freedom. . .
