Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre

France, Germany

Synopsis

Sickened by Caesar's sarcastic remarks, the proud and beautiful queen makes a bet with him: if she manages to have the most magnificent palace possible built for him within III months (yes, 3!), in the middle of the desert, he will admit publicly that the Egyptian people is the greatest of all peoples.
To carry out this difficult task, Cleopatra chooses Edifis, an up-and-coming avant-garde architect: if he succeeds, she'll cover him with gold. If he fails, she'll throw him to the famished royal crocodiles.
A deadline that's impossible to meet without a miracle! And the miracle is called Asterix, Obelix and their faithful friend, the druid Getafix, guardian of the Magic Potion.
The evil Artifis, Cleopatra's official architect, jealously decides to do everything in his power to get revenge. With his back to the wall, of which not a single stone has been laid, Edifis sets off for Gaul to find the druid Getafix whose magic potion is used exclusively by just a few Gauls... But faced with Caesar's mighty armies, headed by the formidable Tividinnus, and the cunning of his enemy Artifis, will the potion be enough to enable Edifis and his zealous and cerebral scribe Otis to complete the titanic project an time?
The wise Getafix therefore asks his friends Asterix and Obelix, along with Dogmatix, to add all their ingenuity, courage, strength and humour to the brew to help Edifis to build his palace in time.
Otherwise, look out for the crocs and the pirates!
