WINGS OF DESIRE

DER HIMMEL ÃœBER BERLIN

Germany

Synopsis

Synopsis

Damiel and Cassiel, two unemployed angels who can read people's thoughts, wander daily around the streets of Berlin. They are far from being saints, for not only do they pamper their favorites, but one of them, the angel Damiel, even falls in love with a trapeze artist. He gives up his wings and his immortality to live among the humans. WINGS OF DESIRE is a "hommage" to Berlin, a poetic declaration of love to mankind itself, a parable told in a unique cinematic language.
