Director's Statement
Everybody deserves a second chance. That was our starting point when we began developing THE RUNNER. It’s a story about the harsh reality of the crisis that harries all of Europe, and about the hope for a better future.
In the film, Miguel Ángel Jenner and Lluís Altés incarnate the former boss and the former employee of a company. A chance encounter that brings back memories of a sad past and that will bring up unexpected possibilities for one of them at a time when he thinks all is lost. THE RUNNER talks about what happens when suddenly the ordinary becomes extraordinary. A funny reflection about the economic crisis that leaves out political criticism and centres on the humane reality of two characters who could be any of us.
Because any and all of us deserve a second chance.
