Open Hearts is about four human beings and their sudden, unprepared-Jor encounter with the fragility of life and the power of love. Cecilie (Sonja Richter) and Joachim (Nikola) are young and in love. Things change not only for Cecilie and Joachim but also for Marie (Paprika Steen) and Niels (Mads Mikkelsen). Marie and Niels are both in their late thirties. They're happily married and they have three children but [heir marriage is sorely tested when Niels falls passionately in love with Cecilie The question is whether Niles and Cecilie- are ready to give up eveiything for the sake of their love.
