Synopsis

Synopsis

At Recypark Buda, workers receive waste ... and also the moods of customers. By constantly sorting waste, the workers at Buda are gradually assimilated into the material they process. The film paints a portrait of a place, a social context, and men considered to be the “umbrella” of our consumer society.

Statement of the director

Having a father who worked at Recyparks in Wallonia (Belgium), I grew up hearing stories about his job. Naturally, over time, I found myself drawn to these places.
After conducting field research in Buda (Brussels), my desire is to show the heroic side of this profession and highlight the usefulness of these workers, which may not be obvious to the general public. I want to raise awareness of the weariness that workers sometimes feel towards the contempt shown towards them by certain customers. Some of them will express how they feel after certain altercations with customers and share their feeling of being equated by society in general, and by certain customers in particular, with the material they handle.
