European Film Academy Short Film Network Meeting
Drama International Short Film Festival – partner of the short film category for 23 years – is one of 31 festivals selecting a short film annually for the European Film Awards Shortlist. It will bring the partners of the network together in Drama for the festival’s 49th edition, preceding the European Film Awards’ 39th edition, hosting a vivid exchange not only among the network itself but also with the local film industry.

Greek Cinema, Rediscovered
Through Greek Cinema, Rediscovered, the Hellenic Film Academy invites audiences across Greece to experience Greek cinema anew through a nationwide screening programme featuring more than fifty landmark fiction and documentary films spanning the 1950s to the present day.
As part of the programme, a special screening of Theo Angelopoulos’ Landscape in the Mist will celebrate the landmark film that received the European Film Academy’s Best Film Award in 1989. The screening will be introduced by Konstantinos Kyriakos, Professor of Theatre and Greek Cinema History, and will take place in Athens and Patras.

Film Factory
Award-winning Greek and European filmmakers will share their creative journeys through real stories of filmmaking, exploring every stage of the filmmaking process—from the first idea to meeting audiences.
The four-day programme will feature masterclasses, workshops and networking events, culminating in a closing celebration open to everyone who loves Greek cinema.

Iris Close-Up | Iris Awards
The programme opens on Tuesday, 16 June, with Iris Close-Up, a new Iris Awards initiative creating a platform for dialogue around contemporary cinema. Its inaugural edition features free public masterclasses at Onassis Stegi with acclaimed filmmaker Anna Hints, exploring creative passion in Creative Fire, and award-winning actress Vicky Krieps, reflecting on stillness and artistic expression in Silence. Both sessions offer unique insights into the creative process.

Award-Winning European and Greek Films Stream Free on ERTFLIX for One Month
Selected award-winning fiction and documentary films from the European Film Academy and Hellenic Film Academy are available to stream free for one month on the ERTFLIX platform. At the same time, ERTecho podcasts feature interviews with Greek filmmakers nominated for the 2026 Iris Awards. The films, presented in a dedicated category on the platform titled “AND THE WINNER IS…”, come from directors from different countries, offering a broad selection that highlights the diversity of cinematic production in Europe.
At the same time, podcasts from ERTecho (Cine-pós with Alexandros Romano Lizardo and CineCast with Depy Vrettou) broadcast interviews with Greek filmmakers nominated for the 2026 Iris Awards.
