The 38th European Film Awards will take place this Saturday, 17 January 2026, at the iconic Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, where 1.000 international guests are expected to gather for the festive gala celebrating European cinema. 88 nominees are in the running in 22 categories.

The trio of producers Maren Ade, Jonas Dornbach and Janine Jackowski from the German company Komplizen Film will be honoured at the 38th European Film Awards with the EURIMAGES INTERNATIONAL CO-PRODUCTION AWARD 2026 presented by Eurimages and the European Film Academy.
European Film Academy 2026: Arts & Crafts Nominations Announced
the European Film Academy has revealed the nominees in eight categories honouring the diverse crafts of filmmaking. Following the introduction of member chapters for each department this year, chapter members selected three nominations per category.

Today, the European Film Academy revealed the nominees for nine further categories of the 38th European Film Awards. The nominations were announced at the iconic Real Alcázar of Sevilla, following the 22nd Seville European Film Festival. The winners will be pronounced at the festive awards ceremony on 17 January 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
