Synopsis
An internationally acclaimed music conductor drastically interupts his career and retires to his childhood village in the north of Sweden.With a famous conductor in town, it isn´t long before he is asked to come and listen to the village´s little church choir, and rediscovers his long-lost joy for music.
Director's Biography
Born in 1938, Kay Pollak began his filmmaking career in 1976 with ELVIS! ELVIS! Prior to this he had worked predominantly in TV, where he made, amongst other things, the successful Swedish TV series DEN HEMLIGHETSFULLA VERKLIGHETEN. In 1980 he was awarded the Guldbagge for Best Director for the film CHILDREN’S ISLAND, and both CHILDREN’S ISLAND and LOVE ME! (1986) were nominated for Golden Bear Awards at the Berlin International Film Festival. Following LOVE ME!, Kay spent his time writing books and lecturing an personal development. AS IT IS IN HEAVEN marks Pollak's return to cinema with his first feature film in 18 years.
